M. Barden Prisant graduated from Yale in 1982 with a B.A. in Art History; that same year, he founded his art database and appraisal firm, Telepraisal, Inc.. He has held the post of Adjunct Professor at New York University and was a Contributing Editor for the magazine Art Business News for more than a decade. He is the author of more than 60 published articles and was a contributor to the book which accompanied the Antiques Roadshow. In 2002, he was named an Eminent Professional Fellow of the 120,000-member Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the body which oversees the appraisal profession in the U.K..
